jab at all those who just turned 40, and what to expect from the second half of life.
Now you’ve just turned forty,
It may seem like plenty,
But you can take my word for it,
It really is the new twenty.

You may not run quite a fast,
Unless it’s to the can,
But mark my words, the exorcise,
Will make you feel like a new woman.

You may get the urge to wear certain things,
Like canary yellow pants,
Condiment shakers and ceramic birdies,
Will also attract your glance,

Potluck night at the legion hall,
Will sound like a bitchin time,
But make no mistake, it won’t compare,
The cribbage game at nine.

If I haven’t scared you quite enough,
About your age old riper,
Wait until your 75,
When I can joke about your diaper
