Quatern written for the "A Poem A Day Contest"

The longing of my soul...

The longing of my soul is deep
To feel the December cold touch
My skin and tantalize my lungs.
The wind scented with herbal mist.

Oh idle days, caged in my rooms,
The longing of my soul is deep,
To free my self of apathy -
Yield of too many desp'rate years.

Though, like night bows to the morning
Allowing the day's vibrant light,
The longing of my soul is deep
To embrace my dawning believe

I widen the door to Autumn's
Sky, finding flight on wings unknown.
With strength anew I taste the wind.
The longing of my soul is deep.
