I wrote this poem to a good friend, that later became a great romance.


You sat with me, your peppermint tea
and chocolate biscuits on a plate.
Rocking chairs stood still while your garden grows
we watch the clouds pose.

While skinny shirts and jeans hang on the line
they play above the grass with no shoes to wear, and wave hello.
I listen as you charge my heart and mind
time forever, with no sorrows.

Dusk lay at our feet
the sky will close its eyes.
Quietly let me hold your hand and say goodnight
but not goodbye.
