You do what you do to me, to make me more like you.
When I feel you moving closer
My breath just seems to catch
Your eyes refuse to leave mine
Trapping me in their depths
I don’t know how to act
What is right and what is wrong
You always seem to know though
As my head slams against the wall
I cry out, “I’m sorry!”
But you just shake your head.
“You little bitch,” you sigh,
“I thought we’ve gone over this.”
“I didn’t mean to do it,”
I plead with you tearfully
But my words mean nothing now
They never meant a thing
I am a liar, a freak
Someone you cannot trust
You made me see this
And I thank you for it
I know I have my faults
Large, numerous, set in stone
You try to make me better,
I just always do it wrong.
After teaching me a lesson
One that probably won’t stick
You hold me in your arms
And give me a warm kiss.
I know that you love me
This is why you must do
What you do to me
So that I can become more like you.
