Poetry/story about a fight against extinction. Part 1
"Son of Tomorrow" Part 1

Another cold day, for
Father and son,
Lost in a time, to fight
With a gun...

All that was green, is
Covered in ice,
Was lost long ago, as
Well as sunlight..

Dirty grey snow, blankets
The earth,
Mothers are gone, assisting
In birth..

Creating a life, for
Something unknown,
Feeding on Flesh,
Collecting our bones..

Hunting at night, by
Sensing our heat,
Or by a pulse, from
A heartbeat..

A father and son, fight
To survive,
Not giving up, by staying
Alive...

Pushing through fear,
Driven by hate,
Selected to live, assuming
It's fate..

Sleeping in sewers, hiding
From creatures,
Spider like eyes, are their
Facial features,

Leathery skin, finger
Tip claws,
Monkey like arms,
Slowly they crawl...

Suction cup legs, climbing
The trees,
Watching for life, waiting
To feed..

Spotting an image, glowing
From heat,
Crawling in close, grinding
It's teeth...

Attacking with force, gripping
It's prey,
Shredding a sack, taking the
Bait..

Out rang a shot, igniting
A flame,
Producing a squeal, resulting
In pain,

Another one down, hunting
A nest,
Finding a Queen, completing
A quest..

An army of hell, protecting
Their Queen,
Mothers in pods, breeding
Machines,

Creeping through tunnels,
Surrounded by dark,
Slowly they stalk, making
Their mark.

Loaded with jars, a moment
Of placid,
Shattering glass, burning
From acid,

Passing the gates, smell of
Burnt skin,
Killing her guards, letting
Them in,

Out of the dark, snatching
His son,
Surrounded by death, now
Aiming his gun,

Taking a shot, an echo
Of pain,
Freeing his Son, going
Insane,

Surrounded by death, a
Father is doomed,
Telling his Son, goodbye
With a boom,

Buried by rubble, caused by
A blast,
His son is in silence, to
Honor his past,

Forever my Father, I'm
Finding my mother,
Avenging your death, and
Of my brothers,

Grabbing the rifle, he kisses
His Dad,
All that was good, is turning
To bad,

Inside he is hollow, stripped
Of his love,
Now is a Warrior, sent
From above,

Strength of a god, taking
Their breath,
A Son has gone mad, bringing
Them death,

Giving her orders, she wants
Him alive,
To torture his soul, to see
What's inside,

Now what has risen, a Queen had
Created,
A boy with a heart, filled with
A hatred,

Now comes a story, a son
Of the future,
To battle a queen, her
Army of creatures..
