An ode to my sister.
Three hours is too short a time to live on earth;

yet it took just three hours for you to reach eternity.

God robbed us of the sister and the daughter we so longed to meet.

Time cheated us of the chance to share our lives hand in hand.

Time stole me an empty memory of you;

The only picture I have of us together is you and mom in bed and I in dad's arms,

by then you had already left for your eternal embrace with God.

All I can see is your ethereal angelic face.

I hope Heaven is a much nicer place with you around.

How is it like being the prettiest angel up in Heaven?

Down here, it's just mom, dad and me;

You could have been the bijou gem on the crown.

I would have been exceedingly proud and honored to be your big brother,

but you had a different plan, mighty impudent on your part.

You made the ultimate sacrifice.

In losing my sister and mom and dad's only daughter, we found our guardian angel.

Thank you for looking after us each moment and making me believe in Heaven.

You are my guardian angel, sis, my sentinel.

My gratitude endures forever.
