When the one you love turns revealing the true nature of their soul.
MISTAKEN.

You're the core my world thrives on.
The blanket of warm air around me.
Every star that glows bright in the night,
Is mirrored in your eyes as you settle on mine.

When the sun sets kissing the world goodnight;
That last lingering finger of warmth,
Pales next to the heat
Of your lips pressing against my own.

I find safety in your embrace,
My doubt no longer known.
No army the world over,
Could give my soul such peace.

Or so you lead me to believe.....

Your love's now unpredictable,
Like nature's every whim.
Now you look me up and down,
Eyes glitter, hungry and dark.

I find myself drawn to them,
Terrified by their gaze.
The small questioning 'why?'
Dying on my trembling lips.

The raging breath of the seven seas,
All destruction and lies;
Will never cause anyone the heartache,
Your lust has done to me.
