What is there to fear in the night, if you stay with me?
The pounding of your heart,
Loud and steady in my ears,
Helps me to fall asleep,
Forgetting all my cares.
I know you will protect me,
Keep me safe so I can dream,
You sooth away my nightmares,
And quiet all my screams.
The warmth of your two arms,
Encircling me so tight,
Helps me find the solace,
That I try to find each night.
So hold me close, don't let me go,
Please keep lying here with me,
For nothing else quite matters,
We're where we ought to be.
