A short snapshot of all four corners of the world.
Atop the tower of ash and stone,
Upon a hill of dirt and rock,
Sitting on a plane of the world.
The world. A world with a different north, east, south, and west.

To the east I look,
A mountainous range barring entry to the province beyond.
With cold mists and an iron frown,
It forbids all from looking down.

Averting my gaze I turn towards the south-east.
Mountains abruptly end, mists dissapate and a purple and blue tinged sky rises from the grey.
Evidence of stars are now seen,
But their glow is low as the south comes into view.

Fire and heat is all that can be said here.
Thirst among travellers and deadly scorpions is what creates the fear.
Fear and death, fear and death is all which exists in those forsaken desert straits,
But away from unpleasantness and away we go.

Towards temperence and greenery it is time to turn.
The setting sun is what transitions cold to warm.
From the south-west to the end of days is our next destination.
Sun’s last bastions of waining power no longer burn.

The west will be the sun’s last stand.
Like a shinny penny in the sky,
It protects the rain-washed and temperete west from shadow.
With colours of red, orange, and yellow, the sun begins to fall below the land.

And now away from this battle between light and darkness to the north-west.
The sky is once again a mix of purple and blue,
But this time the stars have grown anew.
Pin-pricks in the sky are the only comfort in this snow-covered world.

Snow is the native inhabitant of the north.
Dominating the land, but its sparkle is nothing but a shadow of the balls of fire hanging in the sky.
And yet the crystals on the ground are no less beautiful,
Than those hanging up above.

A turn of the earth almost complete,
To the north-east, a dark and figureless direction,
With light in almost total defeat.
Only the figures of the mountains are there and still hiding their mystique.

Back to the east and now there is nothing.
Light is defeated and darkness rules.
So now it is up to me to resurrect it,
With wood and oil I will wait out the shadows until light rises again.
