My thought if I ever get married
You never were there,
when I needed you the most...
But now I must stand up,
to get ready for my toast.

I wish you were there,
to say I will teach him a lesson,
and help me up off the ground,
out of my depression.

I was told that other dads
choose the man for their daughter.
But what about the other girls,
who don't know their father?

I've at times wondered,
Who will walk me down the aisle,
on my wedding day?
Who will tear up for me,
as he gives me away?

You did teach me to find a man unlike you,
one that stays no matter how bad.
But now I must hold my glass into the air,
and say, here's to you dad.
