Poem about the financial markets
The Waves (2011)

Afar from the gloomy investing world,
The exuberant and arrogant youths
Fulfilled their thrills by riding hazardous
High waves on a beautiful blazing day.

When they grasped the bouncy waves with their boards,
Bolts of electrical shock sprinted through
Their veins accompanied with huge doses of
Unconstrained adventurous addiction.
While pondering how high the waves can go.

How perilous can the waves truly be?

Absurd, many say. The seasoned surfers
Are too good to fail. Experience with
Swift sight is all a surfer really needs
To stay afloat on the turbulent waves.

As the dwarf sized waves became hill-sized waves,
Some smooth youths elicited sweltering
Sweat from forehead to cheek, internally
Yearning to be away from peril.
Yet some daring surfers, desiring pride,
Foolishly dwelled to ride the climbing waves
As it became terribly mountainous.

Somehow, the promising waves could not take
The pressure and abruptly collapsed like
An avalanche, leading the brash surfers
Down in despair with no chance of repair.
Not even the merciful lifeguards could
Save the fallen fun-seekers from their plight.

Can we ever ride the high waves again?
