Ignorance and denial can relieve the ache, but for how long? Not long enough it appears.
Those days are long gone
lost in a November song

Looking back at all those memoirs
Reminded of how distant we now are

Then again

How am I to be sure
Of the closure we appear to share

How many moments of worth are there
All but a fascade of lies and betrayal

Living in a short mirage
Awaking to find disillusionment

Angst and complications
Reality overpowering

Laughter over wounds
Tears over scars

How sweet the moment
Ignorance is bliss

Quickly, it all turns bitter
Denial is futile

Darkness must exist
For light to prevail

Hopes in finding light
In the devouring darkness
Is this not our purpose

An oasis appears
But only a moment
For it dries and vanishes
All in haste

We can only wish for it to last longer
But alas, we can't escape reality

Only shrouding lies upon ourselves
A barrier from the light of truth
