This is something I wrote while trying to analyze why some things don't work out.
I was right in front of you,

All you had to do was look;

Now time has blurred the view,

Ending our chapter in its book.

Future worries stole our present,

Dreams and plans and anxieties;

Ruining many a beautiful moment,

Moments that could’ve made memories.

In the midst of life’s vicissitudes,

You were always there beside me;

You’ve seen me in my various moods,

And yet now strangers we appear to be.

What we had was beyond compare,

Then why did it feel incomplete?

The hole we mended would always tear,

Driving us back to a hopeless retreat.
