A Birthday Fit for a King

Expectations have never been higher;
excitement grows day by day.
They both know what is to occur,
for the angels did say,

"She will bring forth a son
and you will call his name Jesus."
No longer is the virgin barren,
but given a child, still blameless.

Back to his homeland,
they travel for the censor.
Finding comfort upon farmland,
within a stable, they anchor.

Up above the sky so high
from the east, a shining star so bright
calling three wise men, unable to defy
the prophecy of this guiding light.

The virgin begins to feel the pains.
He prepares the manger and makes a garment.
The world has no idea what it's about to gain.
The time has come; she delivers God's infant,

They look at each other in awe, holding the Son of God.
They were chosen to be here at this special moment.
With baby swaddled in the manger, to God they laud,
thanking Him for giving mankind this heavenly infant.

Three men soon appear with great fervor;
they bowed and worshiped him giving over
gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
"Blessed be the King of the Jews" they clamor.

A birthday that changed eternity
could never have been done differently,
for this day has been planned from day one
to give all mankind a way into the gates of Zion.
