A poem about good friends and love.
“A THOUSAND WORDS”
That picture that’s worth a thousand words
Proved to me that you have heard
The turmoil cry of a woman’s heart
You listened every time…that makes you smart
You knew my wants, needs and dreams
You were in my mind it almost seems
You touched my heart down to my soul
We were just strangers…truth be told
But you became familiar to my mind
Treated me special and made me prime
I sipped on what you had to say
You were the sunshine in my rainy days
It did not end with just that
For with me you daily sat…
Listening to my complaints of this world
Like I was your only girl
As you looked me in the eyes
I wanted to let go and just cry
Your soothing words would comfort me
I dreamed of us becoming “we”
I sensed there was more you wanted to give
I thank God you made it easier for me to live
That picture is truly worth a thousand words
Simply because you actually heard.
