My husband will be 80 soon.It prompted me to write this for him.
Our Life

We open our eyes and laugh

in the morning

from days to years

Time’s passage brings varied cycles,

seasons like an endless flow of

a waterway;

a constant change of new experience.

From a newborn cry to a first

toddle, we are

perennials whose seeds

keep blooming.

We’ve grown our children and made

our friends - old and new

And some have left beyond our reach.

From cramming days and working weeks

We settle down to enjoy what’s left of

our gifts.

Now, we toddle

as we did then

And we laugh at night.
