What I see every day when I go to work.
Sunset

Nature sings the song of parting
as the trees reach up to embrace
the sun and pull her into the earth's bosom.

The sky throws a tantrum of color as its sister
sinks lower in the strong embrace.

The wind tosses and turns
in the never-ending sea of prairie grass
and the world awaits the night.

The moon climbs like a lovely maiden to her thrown
yet is dull predecessor to her sister sun.

She bids adieu to her parting sister
as her court comes out of the shadows of twilight.

The earth seems to be at its peak of unnatural beauty
as it rests its head to await the dawn of another day
