Contest Entry for DreamTime Dragon's Contest :)
There once was a rhyme
From a faraway time
'Bout a leprechaun boy and his dragon.
Together they ran
Plundering Ireland's land
And they kept all their gold in a wagon.

But as they got older
The dragon grew bolder
And wanted the hoard for his own.
So he thought and conspired
To win the gold he admired
And asked his young friend for a loan.

But the leprechaun questioned
His dragon's intentions
And put an old curse on his gold.
So though he received
Gold, he was deceived.
The treasure he never would hold.

Now at the rainbow's far end
The cursed dragon would fend
For a treasure hid deep in the caves.
And while the leprechaun played,
The dragon remained
And would stay til the end of his days.

But when the leprechaun came
To count the gold he had made
He found he had made a mistake.
For the dragon, he rolled
On a throne made of gold
That neither of them could now take.

Today the legend is told
Of a cave full of gold
That sits at the rainbow's far side.
Though the bounty is there
No sane man would dare
To tread where the two do abide.
