A poem about the effects of a breakup
You hold the key,
To these chains I'm in
I'm too far below this water,
To decide to sink or swim
And as the air rises out of me,
I rush to pull it back in
For all the things I've told you
Are the things I call my sin
So take your hourglass,
Wrap it around your neck
You'll be counting the final seconds
Till I take my last breath
The words were meant to charm me,
But they feel too depressing
Spotlighting the finger towards me
The guilt trip is impressing
I'm already sucked in,
Now I'm begging on my knees
Accept this guilty one,
Say you love her please
For who knows whose to blame
When we both acted to apathetic
We sported our own rules of games
Don't expect me to be sympathetic
Of you
When the only fool,
Is the one you created
The only jerk is the one who played it
We've chosen our roles
Sang our last note
So why can't we forget this?
Even though its all I've known
