A musing of the mother daughter relationship. Please read and review
A Mother’s Love

Is the impact of a mother’s love destructive or empowering?
The love of one’s mother can become as bitter as a lemon.
Her words cannot be removed with mental scouring.
The hurtful glare of her eyes can burn your soul like a demon.

Her criticism can be as suffocating as a killers’ hand.
She can strip you of your empowerment like a rapists touch.
All ideas but hers are buried in the gritty sand.
Release me from your overbearing pouch.

You heard my plea, embraced my needs and set me free.
Warmth, love, confidence have all found my way.
