Tired of knowing the cycle.
Everyday made has another change
So why does it always end up feeling the same
I can feel the toddler see me through admiring eyes
But the old folks know the most with their remembered sighs
Oh, I know
Where we all go

Sunshine on the back blistering with content
The balmy days of innocence seem to be spent
The more I learn the less I feel like I’m sure of
Tell me there’s a way that I can be cured of

These opened eyes
I’ve seen enough
I know each field ends in a bluff
Tell me there’s a soft pillow, to catch my fall
I feel I know it all
I’ve lived this cycle
I know this end
I much too tired to start all over again
Oh, I know
Where we all go

Smiles on a child of a frequent kind
Shallow as they seem in the throes of time
Bitter hearts long for the yesteryears
Poets know it well, the promise disappears

For love is liquid flowing in and out of hearts
One continues beating while one never starts
No illusions lost on plans that can’t be made up
Tell me there’s a way that I can be saved of

These opened eyes
I’ve seen enough
I know each field ends in a bluff
Tell me there’s a soft pillow, to catch my fall
I feel I know it all
I’ve lived this cycle
I know this end
I much too tired to start all over again
Oh, I know
Where we all go

Gabriel and Michael casting lots on my choice
I had a sturdy heart, now I’m a cracking voice
I used to believe it could conquer all
Now I’m bleeding my prayers into a crystal ball
Forgive my doubts
But I’m all strung out
I’m sick of climbing up just to be slapped back down
I hope to persevere to see the next day
But I just can’t handle the hate

Of these opened eyes
I’ve seen enough
I know each field ends in a bluff
Tell me there’s something, anything, to catch my fall
I know too much, I’m out of control
I’ve lived this cycle
I know this end
I’m too damn tired to try it again
Oh, I
Oh I know
Where I’ll go
