My third poem, and this one rhymes!
Darkness falls across the land
something crawls across the sand,
shadows creep where none dare sleep
the dead are piled in a heap, the strong prey upon the weak
this unholy sight where demons take flight.
Here is where sinners rest, those who bare the devil's crest
in this horrible massive cell, this is the very pit of hell.
Darkness falls across the land, but we are saved by Jesus' hand
for this fate that we have won, was taken on by the holy one
shadows creep where none dare sleep, but God's strength protects the weak.
Follow me my brothers is what he said, come and we shall liberate the dead
and on this day the shadows fled, the day Jesus cut off death's head
for death came and embraced him in shadow,
but Jesus rose and made death's field cold and fallow.
This unholy sight where demons take flight, was forced to face the righteous light
those who bore the devil's crest, where put down and laid to rest
in this horrible massive cell, the very pit of hell,
is where Jesus shown his light, and freed us all without a fight.
