wanted to write something that made the reader feel as if they were there with the writer.
Be you hellish demon,
or a cretin of those deeply dreaming,
  most uncertain I keep peeping-
  around my bedroom door

Into the darkness peering,
  faintly I keep hearing-
  the breathing of something peering,
at me from around my bedroom door

Am I mad or am I seeing,
  a form so barely breathing,
  a hand so distinctly reaching,
at me toward my bedroom door

As I stand there starring-
  through the darkness that's ensnaring
  my mind keeps screaming, blaring
  "run from your bedroom door!"

"Come you closer cretin or demon!"
  I stand there peering, screaming.
  The footfalls cause my weeping,
  from behind my bedroom door

"I know demon, you're coming!"
With claws so sharp and stunning.
  "I am not for running,
  from behind my bedroom door!"

As I lay here bleeding,
one thought my mind keeps repeating,
"I shouldn't have started the peeping,
  the screaming and entreating."
  "That form so barely breathing,
  the hand so distinctly reaching,
  the darkness is not deceiving."
as I lay here behind my bedroom door.

May this be a dream and nothing more...
