A reflective poem, very first draft so i'm definitely open to any and all criticism!
An open wound in heaven
Leaking blood out into the sky
Just a reminder that all good must end
As every life must also die
That immortality might not exist
That invulnerability is a lie
A ravine in heaven split open wide
Drops of tears falling from its majestic eyes
Flaws cracking through the seamless lies
Rays of darkness protruding through the ceaseless light
The cricket’s chirp interrupting a silent night
The words we say and never meant
A quenched piranha most content
A longing for a lost lover’s embrace
A yearn for love met only with hate
Bewildered hearts tangle with confused smiles
Feigning self-assurance disguises blend with guile
The honesty of soul concedes once again
The charade goes on there is no end
As pretenders flash their fangs and call you friend
As such it will be while we persist in this world
And it will be so without sympathy
This is a certainty
