a poem of acceptance and serenity
A Witness

A witness, then,
And only that--
Of nothing and of no one,
In particular.
Significance lies side by side with nonsense;
So,
A sentinel of silence and completeness.
My object:
To erase the world
And find myself, bereft
Of all but knowing,
And the willingness
To witness.
