A sweet Main Coon from the cat house.
Bourbon sits in one corner
like a lioness resting on soft grass
occasionally licking his long soft hair
keeping it clean and flowing
lying neatly loose from the skin
exposed to weather- good and bad.

Strong enough to hunt
sharp claws and teeth to kill
he warns intruders if
they go into his corner.
Shy to others he hides
but comes out when
no one is around.

Large as a lion cub
Bourbon's an older cat
of the cats in the cat house.
Laying down on his belly
Bourbon enjoys resting
especially when people come
looking for a cat to adopt.

Over time some people can
pet Bourbon for a little bit.
Like a lion he loves other cats
to have for companions
so he doesn't get lonely.
Living for a long time
only able to see a small area
and travel a distance
from where
he was rescued.
