Imagine a kingdom with a grumpy King. Part Two of my Kingdom Poems. (CRAMP ENTRY)
And so it was said, in reference to the Dark Cloud
That fell over the kingdom, enveloping in a very gloomy shroud
It all started they say,  when the Princess was given away
To Mark the Farmer, who surprisingly came back as a prince one day

As the happy couple walked away, the King fell into a tantrum spell
He was a force to be reckoned with of which, many tried, but none can quell
Then Mary the Housekeeper, had an idea in her head, one that went bleep
That maybe the King should be helped to bed, and put in a very deep sleep

But what to do, as the King's chamber was in quite a discomfiting mess
The bed overturned, with chamber pot contents splashed all over the Royal Crest
The housekeeper began, slowly and begrudgingly, as it was her responsibility
And turned the bed over and pushed it against the corner, to increase mobility

But the King entered then, and was in quite a murderous rage
The gall! The tenacity! And some more invective that scared the poor page
The housekeeper was quick to pour down the special sleeping broth
Marvin the Jester tried to help, but instead, got squished like a moth

And so Mary the Housekeeper set about in her obviously smelly task
To clean up all the mess, specially the one on the crest, with a mask
The bed remained in the corner, heaven forbid that the king wake!
The Jester was revived and life went on, piece of cake

And so in looking back, twas on that day the people believe
That all this started, as they are now only barely starting to perceive
For in the attempt to calm down the king, and cajole him to rest
Mary ended up putting the royal bed on the corner, with only one side to egress!

And so for months the people endured, form a harvest to the one over
Too simple to think, that maybe there was a way to fix the king, help him recover
Mary still made strong cannabis broth to force down the King each night
But somehow he still woke shouting, like he was disgraced by bedbugs, in a mud fight

At last the jester remembered the Princess, who just had her little Princeling
He journeyed to her and asked for help, if its possible, if she cared even an inkling
The princess acquiesced and quickly packed up her little joy in a bundle
And asked the jester to go on ahead and so he went, albeit it was in a trundle

The Princess arrived, but the King was already deep in the art of cannabis napping
So she set about the Kings' chambers looking around, all the while, tsk! tsking
For the Princeling, it is known, likes to wake up to the welcoming sun rays
But since the bed was barring the window, the Princess pushed it sideways

Crib in place and just in time, for the King woke up and bellowed like thunder
But then he looked over to the other side and stared open mouthed, in wonder
He moved over, for the tiny voice tugged at his heart, and peered inside cautiously
Within was the Princeling, looking up at him, mirroring his smile so gloriously
