You can't always change your path, but you can change your effect.
Relentless Journeyman

I am following the distance,
to a distant scream of
anywhere.
I've got no role model,
no lover or friends to tell me anything.
…but I've got my survival,
encased up-on my back
in case of everything.

I am bouncing off the walls of haphazardness,
shouting up at the late night.
Is there reason for my fright?
Loneliness guided by fate and
blinding light.
Maybe all I needed was consciousness
and
someone else’s foresight.

Look to my horizons,
think about where I want to be,
in my cage of liberty.
Have I got commitment,
when I’m crawling on the floor
of some place I shouldn't be?
I’ll see you someday,
when I return from my journey of integrity.

Now I can be a role model,
to a group of unsuspecting travellers
    like you and me.
    I can be a conscience,
    looking after consciousness,
    from my seat of secrecy.
    I can be a hero,
‘cause I know what it means
    to be an heirloom
    from the hierarchy of history.
