A poem about Michelangelo's labor-intensive, beautiful artistry - the Sistine Chapel.
The exquisite paintings that embody
The hallowed halls of the Sistine Chapel
Tell the majestic story of God’s heavenly and sacred home.

The Almighty is beautifully depicted in masculine form,
Surrounded by snow-white, feathery angels
And wispy, billowy clouds;
This miraculous display of eternity and light
Impressively lining the ceilings and edges
Of the historic chapel.

The artist, Michelangelo, spent years lying
On his supported, cushioned back
To create this memorable masterpiece,
A remarkable opus of faith
And storytelling that exhibits
The true virtuoso at his magnificent best.

And once again proving that patience and inspiration
Can produce classic works of art,
In the distinguished and legendary annals
Of human history.
