Listening and trying to hear the air moving
Silence!

The air moves without a sound
No one or nothing hears it coming or going

Such stillness all around
Straining with all my senses I can’t hear it

Nothing at all seems to be abound
Watching and looking but feeling nothing

Just peace and quiet that surrounds
Gentleness touches my face and arms

My eyes are wide open yet it can’t be found
Cool and embracing it engulfs and holds me

Silence!

Noisy as it can be without ever making a sound
It is so deafening so loud and so profound

Intensely listening as hard as you can
It is as if all other sounds have been banned

Not a single sound can be heard
No sounds at all throughout the world

Deep and complete quiet seems to rule
And yet still the air continues to move

Silence!
