A poem about how I feel about my mother
My mother
She burned me
It hurts
But when you get burned,
and it blisters
and you lose the hand
do you blame
the fire?
For it was you
who did not care for yourself
It was you who let the blisters
Fester
It was you who did nothing to help
so
Though she burned me
I do not hate her
Or myself
I simply learn
To take care
          of myself
                    of the burns
to not allow them to affect me so much
