I give you one day
If we only had a day to exist and survive,
Would we barely endure or would we prosper and thrive?

If in that day we each found our true joy and glee,
Would you surrender your hatred and stop being my enemy?

Yet in that day, would you search for those you’ve unhappily wronged,
Or just ignore them just like that much despised song?

If we only had a day to live here,
Would you accept those with differences or would everyone but you be queer?

Within that day, could you accept the mistakes someone made,
Just as you did years ago, even when those memories fade?

When that day comes that you must say farewell,
Will you wish for everyone the fruits of heaven or the toils of hell?

If in one day you accumulated a debt too great,
Will you forfeit all you own or will you steal from another’s plate?

If tomorrow never came because of yesterday’s acts,
Would you live in a lie or come to face the facts?

If you knew a child cried, a teenager committed suicide, the abusive lover lied, and all the good innocent people will run and hide,
Would you do all you could to stop the hurt or would you merely abide?

If you were the soul that would do his best to help all or you were the person who hated mankind,
Why do you leave all those among us in such a bind?

If you had one day to take back all those words and actions that you utterly regret,
And though your errors may have set,
Would do you do your best to erase them all and yet,
Do your best to avoid them in the future because it’s the pain caused you won’t forget?

You’ve had one day if you’ve counted,
To take back mistakes and pains so others aren’t hurting and evil-mounted.
But did you truly use it to cure others,
Or was it spent more on yourself?

Because if you did say you would undo your mistakes and flaws,
Then you had more than one day because
If today was a day of forgiveness,
Then yesterday was a day of hatred and ill intentions.

So you say you would undo what you did yesterday,
For a better today.
But I am afraid there is one more thing I must say.

In one day you harmed a life and in another day you helped it. But this whole time you assumed that you were able to ask for forgiveness, I guess. You and your victim were both alive yesterday, but what if you were the only one to make it to today? Yes, fate twisted the rails and now you both are separated by things: destinies, events, locations, and of course the grave.

Make your choices right the first time so you only need one day to do things right. Two facts to sum this up.
- Yesterday was earned, today was given, and tomorrow is being decided based upon your today.
- Make the right choice now. Tomorrow could be one day too late.

Thank you for reading this. I much appreciate it.
