A letter to an old "friend"
I remember you
you who were never there,
you who demanded all of my time,
you who abandoned me,
whenever you found someone better.

Oh yes I remember you
you who always put me down,
you who pointed out every flaw,
you who shot down every idea I had,
or took credit for the good ones.

Do you remember me?
the one who made you look good,
the one who always was there to help you,
the one who listened to your problems,
even when I had my own.

I remember you
you who got caught in your own lies,
you who let friendships slip away,
you who has nothing left,
you are now alone.

Oh yes I remember you
and even though time has passed,
the memories and pain last,
they have helped me grow.
I understand now.

Do you remember me?
