Off to Paris to view fine art.

When Dribble Lip flew off to France
to view art in Paree,
he boned up on a few French words,
like Au revoir and oui.

But then in Paris, full of vim,
arriving at the Louvre,
he found his basic use of French
remained far from the groove.

He went to greet a few fine folk,
and so his said, “Salut!”
Yet Dribble bit his words in half--
they didn’t quite ring true.

So people would withhold response,
and some would show disdain;
the “hi” that Dribble offered up
was just not very plain.

Dribble saw the Mona Lisa
and he stared in awe;
when he tapped a fellow tourist,
he said, “Excusez-moi.”

Of course, that’s what he tried to say,
but Dribble’s French was ripped;
a few French ladies blushed bright red,
and one darn nearly tripped.

As he walked away from Mona,
Dribbled stopped and stood;
he uttered a sincere, “Bonsoir,”
but evening was not good.

Yet when the loo was Dribble‘s need,
his, “Où sont les toilettes?”
was written out as a request,
and he had no regret.
