look on the bright side & be sarcastic about it.
that thing you thought
you saw that day?
well it turns out it never
was that thing anyway.
oh, and while you were searching
for what was really nothing
the thing you didnt see
walked quietly away.

one cant truly regret
that which hasnt happened yet;
but still it stings to see
those oh-so-distant things
that disguise themselves
as the something else
while you find that all along
you were chasing a wild-goose song.

still goose is good
for christmas dinner
(it keeps us all
from getting thinner),
so the loss is really a winner
if you know how
to manage the words
like a spinner.
