Time flows ever onward [Cramp entry for 9/21/12].
El Año Pasa

Where did summer go?
My friend,
please tell me, if you know,
why summer had to end,
my friend,
why summer had to go.

Do you see the sky?
My friend,
each day the sun's less high
as summer nears its end,
my friend,
and cooler days draw nigh.

Can I slow the days?
My friend,
enjoy the waning rays.
Continue to pretend,
my friend,
e'en as the year decays.

Where did summer go?
My friend,
your query's apropos,
for autumn's 'round the bend,
my friend,
and, after that, the snow.
