This is just something I came up with for a creative writing class portfolio.
My Traitorous Lips

Hands tied behind my back
Zipties-
Little plastic torture
Keeping me from being
What I was born to be-
Human.
My legs stand
A protest hangs on my lips.
A moment of reflection.
A hammer comes down
On my skull, my life.
The warmth of blood
Slides down my ashamed
Face to my lips
That were silent.
A tear joins.
My fate is made of
Steel and concrete
And all the loneliness
I don’t deserve.
I let this man speak for me
And now I will forever
Be spoken for.
But that one word
I wanted to say
That stopped my lips-
Innocent.
