Poem about starting a college adventure.
The adventure begins and you’re on your own
For the first time in your life there’s no one there
The decisions are yours to make
And yours alone

Will you procrastinate as most people do,
Or study your ass off to make the best grades you can?
Will you speak up and ask questions,
Or simply sit in the back and listen to others?

Will you stand up for yourself?
Will you speak up?
Will you stand out,
Or will you fade into the background?

The future is in your hands when you arrive here
You can become a totally new person should you choose
Forget who you used to be!
What matters is here and now.

Enjoy the multitude of cultures, people, and atmosphere
That now surrounds you
But, never let that consume your being.
Remember where you come from, no matter where you may go.
