A poem about a little girl abused by her father and what it does to her growing up
There was a little girl whose father hit her every day

That's when her childhood begin to slip away

For someone to save her she would pray,

He would call her horrible names

Sadly, it is herself she blames,

She wonders what she did to deserve it

She becomes damaged, bit by bit

A little girl that thinks it's normal to get hit,

She tries so hard to win his love

Is there someone who loves her up above,

She is damaged at such a young age

Surrounded by a world full of rage,

As she grows older he begins to abuse her in a different way

Whatever was left of her begins to decay,

She is screaming inside

Her emptiness she tries to hide

The hope has dwindled, it has died,

She has managed to grow into a women

Trying to overcome her life of ruin,

She wants to work on herself and make it better

Will all of those terrible memories let her,

She dreams of one day finding romance

She will have to figure out what love is if she stands a chance,

Maybe in time she will begin to heal

Maybe she will find that love is real.
