Poem about my oldest daughter in response to a call for submissions related to parenting.
My Darling Daughter

Years flew by
In the blink of an eye
As I watched you learn and grow.

My love for you
Steadfast and true
I’ve given my all to show.

Endless pride
I feel brimming inside
For the woman you’ve become.

Confident air
The smiles you share
Priceless gifts and then some

You will see
What a joy it can be
To raise a child of your own.

I have no fear
In coming years
You’ll be twice the mom you’ve known.

Precious girl
Out to conquer the world
May all of your dreams come true.

Parting I’ll say
I pray each day
Love and faith shall sustain you.
