A struggle to write, within one's self.
Whatever happened to you
                Newbie?
You said you could be anything
        You wanted to be
With paper and pencil in hand
You wanted to create worlds
                Times
                People
                  And
                Places
            That would
                Shock
                  Drop
          The reader into
            Your mindset
You used to compare the rush
            Of writing
    To your own heartbeat
I guess your flatlining now?
Cause it’s been a couple years
Since you tried even rhyming
      Words long forgotten
Characters faded away with time
  No one around to
    Bring you back
    Hell back then
I was the only other person
  Who had your back
Is this what happens
When one moves on
        With life
And forgets all the things
That lessened his strife?

Who are you?
To speak to me
As if I
Never tried
Never fought
For a chance to fight
My own writer’s block
Life does happen
It gets in the way
We can’t all pretend
And go on our marry way
You say
I lost touch
With the things that carried me
When life got ruff
I say you should look at reality
Cause to be honest you seem to speak insanity
If you are what you say you are
Then
Fade back into obscurity
Like everything else I created
And wrote
And hoped
Would become something
But I guess not
So go back to being nothing

No vile words
Can stop me
I don’t need them
Take a look at yourself
Then see I’m not the one
That’s broken
Sure you got a girl now
A family that cares
Nothing seems to have sparked your emotions
In years.
Yet your mind keeps turning like gears
You remember the rush
The feelings
The touch
Of paper to pen
Even now
It excites you
Like an electric shock
Or a shot of adrenaline

It’s true
The rhyming schemes
Flow back to me
And even now I feel the beat
It does feel like
A new breath to me
But where do I even begin
I asked this question before
Where do I start
Do I continue?
Or do I make it up from scratch?

Just start writing

That’s it?

Yeah, so are you back

Yeah I’m back.
