What happens in cookery class??
Cookery Class

As I baked
My pie,
It looked  rugged
Around the edges

Like unkempt
Hedges
It was the pie
You had to love to eat.

Shona’s pie
Looked nice –
She said
“Would you like a slice?”

I declined,
Stating I did not
Eat flour
That was refined.

Shona’s pie
Was apple –
The prize for best
She snaffled.

I saw the pity
In her eyes,
But still
She took the prize.
