Back in the day, I longed for someone and wrote this, words seem more true now
Laying in bed alone,
I still feel your kiss.
I taste my lips
Your flavor is missed
Fighting for a chance,
I start to feel quaint,
Missing your touch,
The one that makes me faint.

Keep my eyelids open,
but don't check the phone again.
Wait was that you?
No, you didn't hit send.
Mind starts to race,
was there a signal I missed?
Is this what I've come to?
An inconsistent bliss?

Moving way too fast,
Wait, no! way too slow.
My heart is the enemy,
Can't let this grow.
Close my eyes now,
Slow the heart rate down,
Can't let myself believe,
The one has been found

Don't string myself along,
I'm really nothing that good.
Persistence is my enemy,
But I will show her I could
be all that she needs,
Not just someone she wants.
No, just go to bed
And my dreams she will haunt
