A lame break-up poem.
It’s 1 am, I’m wide awake
Can’t contain this all-consuming ache
All your pretty lies are coming undone
I guess you didn’t mean it when you said I was the one.
You left me hanging, forever your fool.
Who would’ve thought you could be so cruel?
I was doing just fine before you came along
You’ve robbed my heart of its blissful song.
I fell to pieces on the floor.
We could have been so much more.
As days go by I slowly heal.
What we had was never real.
Someday there will be a time
When you no longer cross my mind.
