A poem of the pains of war.
Walking through the war torn land

And seeing the blood stained sand

The nurse looked around at all of the pain

It's hard to see and to actually stay sane

Bodies were littered across the bloody sand

And in the distance she saw a young man trying to stand

She ran over to him noticing his bloodied side

Most with this injury would have already died

She got him to sit down and placed her hands on his side

As she did the young man pulled out a picture and cried

The flow of blood through her fingers was too much

He was near death but was comforted by her touch

"Please tell my wife I love her," he said as he started to fade away

Her cheeks were flooded by tears as she embraced him tightly,

"She already does... because it's me, your love."
