Short poem about the Scotland Rugby team and their fans
Magnanimous victory, how we've hungered for thee,
Too long has thine embrace been trapped in history.
We have felled World Champions,
We have conquered on tour,
But for too long now we have failed to endure.

Let not this be our fate today,
Let this team not crumble nor fall by the way.
Our nation is proud and our strength resolute.
From the past we learn lessons; to the future we look.

By the many walks home in defeat's embrace,
By the pen of every writer who said we, "saved face."
By the sweat on our brows and the blood on our knees,
By the fifteen patriots who yearn to please.

By a nation's will and the strength of Man,
By every child that whispers, "yes, we can",
By that sweetest joy we all wish to share,
By the roar of the lion as he prances in the air,

By the unyielding coast that battles the waves,
By the beauty of the land that covers their graves,
For those who went before and those still yet to come,
With our brothers and sisters and daughters and sons,

Let the rafters rumble with the joy of the throng,
Let the city shake with the strength of our song,
Let this be the moment right here right now,
Let this be the day we as one cry aloud,
Scotland we are!
Scotland we be!
This is the day when we change history.
