A poem inspired by my ex boyfriend and fellow addict
LIFE WORTH WASTING

Michelle Drew

My hearts jaded.
Ambition has faded.
Embraced addiction,
my brains been raided.

Nerves are grated,
feel separated.
I'm either high
or exasperated.

My guiltless soul,
was swallowed whole.
No future plans.
No long term goals.

My Integrity I traded
for a morality that's shaded.
A Living hell,
substance created.

Excuses dated.
I'm frustrated.
Opportunities,
Disintegrated.

Fears are growing.
Years are showing.
Still don't know,
where I'm going.

Chance's slim.
Hope's dim.
Things never change
I've given in.

I think that dying,
might be worth trying.
No more fear
No more lying.

My choice, not fated.
Now heavily sedated.
Darkness finds me.
For death I've waited.
