How successful is the New Year's resolution?
As I make resolutions on this New Year’s date,
I resolve I will no longer procrastinate.
And believe what I say since it comes from my heart;
from now on I will finish whatever I start.

For I’m tired of starting and leaving loose ends;
there are highways in life and at times they have bends.
But a bend in the road should be nothing to fear;
so to finish the drive would make for a good year.

I do not seek a yogi or man of the cloth
to diminish my tendency to be a sloth.
Thus I will not be lazy--I’ll finish the task;
ye old procrastination wears yesterday’s mask.

It takes minimal effort to put something off;
I will now be a finisher though some may scoff.
For if it is to be then it is up to me;
this is my resolution, and will is the key.

O I can hear the doubters like Thomas and Frank;
but what I now aver you can take to the bank.
I will strive to the finish and step with the beat;
you will see no green grass growing beneath my feet.

And to make sure my new resolution stays sure,
I will add an ingredient and give a stir.
It may seem rather odd but I think you’ll agree,
(to be finished later.)
