mood verse
under a dark cloud
i come back to the black road
where the withered sedge blooms
a welcome
mid the crags


at night i wake to the waves pounding
the boundary of rock
and marvel how these criminal crescendos
perforce
beget calm
in me

i mark well too
how by day
even the often sullen skyscapes
outlandishly conspire to brighten my mood
