For

A

Moment

Close your eyes.

Weep for another.

Keep them in your prayers today

As they struggle against a world that has them bound up

Hand and foot, tied to old ways and old practices; history seen to repeat itself -

Each day, each lonely hour is a reminder of everything wrong; every powerless moment, every helpless endeavor, every failure.

Close your eyes and shed tears for another. Yet be glad and rejoice that for you, heaven exists here on earth, and shining Hope walks with dainty steps beside your path, touching your heart with her presence on every step of your journey.

Close your eyes and walk forward. Blinded by Her presence, you can jump, plunging, off a cliff and trust that you carry the tools to survive. You can know what it is to risk it all and accomplish the impossible. Yet, after you have taken your leap of faith, remember those Hope has abandoned, who only watch your decent. Remember, and weep for those tied by the past.




In the Fibonacci Sequence the syllable count for each line is the sum of the syllables of the prior two lines. The first two numbers are 0 and 1, so the sequence is as follows:
0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144...
